Still reading!
Currently I am reading Kampong Boy by M Ravi. He is a Singaporean human rights lawyer and has defended several people who were sentenced to death. I also read Glass Cathedral by Andrew Koh, about being gay and growing up in Singapore.
I finished Dirt by David Vann, which I must say is a very strange sort of gothic horror-family novel and I also finished Dog Stars by Heller, which was quite well written, end of the world story.
I just bought a used copy of Singapore Grip by Farrell. I'd like to read (if I can find a used copy) Forty Words for Sorrow by Giles Blunt. I also sat in the library for a few hours and read part one of Resident Tourist (comic/graphic novel) by Troy Chin - hope to get back to the library this week and read part 2. I am so sad that I can't have a library card. Only citizens and Perm Residents are allowed to get a card. The library is pretty great - nice selection of books, and great selection of magazines and newspapers - better than the best library in South Africa - but I'm sad about not having a library card.
