Holiday shopping made simple!

Goteblüd is proud to announce that we carry a dozen LSD blotter art designs produced by the infamous Mark McCloud!

Just in time for the holidays. Why not give a unique gift to that special someone? Radical folk art... made in San Francisco... and perfect for framing!

Printed on 80-pound acid-free paper - with soy-based inks - and scored into a 7.5 inch square grid. These papers are chemically untreated but you'll get a contact high just from looking at them!

An affordable gift for most budgets - starting at only $20 for select designs.

Stop by and peruse them all during store hours - Sat/Sun 12-5pm.

Thank you!

Thanks to everyone who came out to see us at this year's NY Art Book fair!

What an incredible event. Really, just too much to describe.

Special thanks to Ramdasha for her help. She provided Original Riot Grrrl Realness to the "You Are Her" show, having made her own zine "Gunk" back in the day.

Friday/Saturday, November 5-6, 2010, 11am - 7pm

This is a *very special event* for us, as we will be exhibiting in a dedicated project room as big as our actual shop!

We will be presenting "You Are Her" - our traveling show of over 600 titles and over 1000 Riot Grrrl and female zines of the 90s, all available for hands-on reading and photocopying to the New York public!

We will also be bringing along a large assortment of vintage zines for sale, as well as "Wuvable Oaf" comics and original art.

AND, we will also be featuring for the first time - more new "radical paper":
  • Chicano t-shirt art of the 80s/90s
  • LSD blotter art by Mark McCloud
  • vintage gay porn of the 60s/70s
Whew!

Stop by and see how much stuff we can possibly cram into this space. It's on the **3rd floor** between the two zine rooms.

ALSO:

So whether you're in SF or NYC, stop by and see us.

And if you're in NYC at the fair, stop by and see our friends at 2nd Floor Projects and Straight to Hell, 3rd floor in PS1, as well as Ryebread Rodeo on the second floor.

"Punk Tabloid" and the SF Zine Fest!
goteblud
Goteblüd - in conjunction with the SF Zine Fest - proudly presents:

PUNK TABLOID
Large Format Zines of the Bay Area First Wave

Saturday, September 4 from 11:00am – 6:00pm
Sunday, September 5 from 11:00am – 6:00pm
(Labor Day Weekend)

SF County Fair Building
(formerly Hall of Flowers)
9th Ave. at Lincoln Way (in Golden Gate Park)
San Francisco, CA

The show debuts at the SF Zine Fest - the city's 9th annual gathering of underground publishers and DIY aesthetes - and both the event and the show are free.

Featured in the show are complete runs of three seminal publications - Search & Destroy, Damage and Another Room Magazine. They exemplify radical, independent publishing in the Bay Area from the late 1970s and early 1980s. The format - oversize newsprint, often with spot color - afforded great graphical capabilities. All three publications realized the potential of the large page, creating beautiful, striking and original layouts that still inspire three decades later.

A panel discussion for the show will take place on site from 2:30-3:30pm Saturday 9/4, and features V. Vale (Search & Destroy) and John Gullak (Another Room Magazine), moderated by Matt Wobensmith of Goteblüd.

After the SF Zine Fest closes, the "Punk Tabloid" show moves to the Goteblüd space at 766 Valencia, SF. It will be on display there during normal weekend hours from 9/11/10 through 10/31/10.

The Goteblüd store will be closed this coming weekend.

See you at the SF Zine Fest!

See you there!

For sale: old zines
goteblud
Summer is here and you know where to find us on a weekend afternoon. So take a stroll down Valencia, eat some vegan food, compete for attention with local hipsters, and duck into Goteblüd for some old-fashioned reading.

Plus we now have a DOLLHOUSE. How many vintage zine stores in San Francisco can make that claim? NONE, that's how many.

Benefit for 924 Gilman this coming weekend @ Goteblüd
goteblud
The legendary 924 Gilman club in Berkeley is facing a huge rent increase and is in danger.

Seeing as 924 Gilman was one of the primary reasons I (Matt) moved to the Bay Area over two decades ago, I feel I need to do something for them.

This coming weekend - 6/5 and 6/6 - we will donate 100% of Goteblüd sales to Gilman. So if you were looking to support a good cause OR pad out your zine collection, come and buy something!
